Charlotte Corlett adds to growing list of Qualifications

Charlotte Corlett

Browne Craine is delighted to announce Audit Manager, Charlotte Corlett, has now added the Chartered Accountant qualification (“ACA”), to her ever growing list of qualifications.

“To become ACA qualified, I applied for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales’ (“ICAEW”) membership through the pathways membership route. To do this I was required to be a Fellow of the ACCA and complete an Examination of Experience (“EoE”),” explained Charlotte. “The EoE is a series of questions where I had to verify my experience and achievements over the last five years as a way of demonstrating I was qualified by experience and I was pleased to hear I met the appropriate standards for membership of ICAEW.”

Charlotte studied hard and passed all of her exams first time which meant she qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) in 2012 at the age of 21 and become a Fellow of the ACCA five years later. Charlotte joined Browne Craine in 2016 and has become a key member of the firm’s audit team.

Despite having two small children to look after, Charlotte has always been keen to continue her personal development. In 2018, Charlotte studied and successfully became a Certified Internal Auditor (“CIA”) which means she can conduct Internal Audits for companies should they require one.

Charlotte now holds practicing certificates and audit practicing certificates with both the ACCA and ACA, the latter meaning she can audit both Isle of Man and UK companies. Charlotte was able to do this at Browne Craine due to the fact that the company is an ICAEW authorised training employer and audit registered firm. Charlotte was awarded the practicing certificates and audit qualification as she was able to demonstrate that she had recent, relevant and sufficient audit and accounting experience to be competent to conduct audit and accountancy work.

“I’d like to congratulate Charlotte not just on her recent achievement with the ACA but her achievements over the last few years, it’s been an incredible and worthwhile journey for her. I’m delighted that our position as a registered audit firm and authorised training employer has enabled her to achieve this position and I’m sure she’ll not be the last person we’ll be able to nurture and help them achieve their aspirations,” enthused Lynsey Smith, director at Browne Craine. “Charlotte is a very motivated individual, her achievements are highly impressive and I am proud to have her as part of my team! Well done Charlotte, well deserved.”
