Browne Craine to Support Charity Granite Mann Challenge for Second Year

Browne Craine & Co (“Browne Craine”) is excited to once again be supporting The Children’s Centre’s Annual Granite Mann Challenge. This year the challenge will take place on Sunday 20th September 2020 at Cringle Reservoir. The Granite Mann Challenge is the only off-road triathlon in the Isle of Man and participants can take part as either an individual or as part of a team.

The triathlon includes a 400 metre swim in the reservoir, followed by a 10 kilometre mountain bike ride using the trails around the plantation with the final element being a 5 kilometre scenic trail run using the tracks in the plantation.

Browne Craine was enthusiastic to become involved and support the Granite Mann Challenge as it is a fun local sporting event and it helps raise money for a fantastic local charity.

“Supporting the Granite Mann Challenge for a second year is a great honour,” said Lynsey Smith, director at Browne Craine. “For the last couple of years, myself and a couple of the other girls from the office joined together and competed in the team event – we had so much fun! A couple of our colleagues took part in the individual event too. The triathlon had a good turnout and was very well-organised so I’d encourage anyone who is thinking about taking part, whether it’s by themselves or as a team, to sign up and give it a go! It’s a tough event but you won’t regret it, and of course, it will help raise lots of money for The Children’s Centre!”

In 2019, The Children’s Centre and Browne Craine agreed a three year sponsorship deal which will see them supporting the event until at least 2021.

“We cannot thank Browne Craine enough for their continued support of our Granite Mann Challenge” said Joff Whitten, Head of The Children’s Centre. “We could not do the events that we do without the support and generosity we get from the Island’s business community. The work we do with vulnerable, at risk and challenged children, young people and families is as needed as it has ever been, perhaps even more so as the world moves further into uncertain times. Granite Mann is a fabulous event and has been such a great success for the last few years, and again this year we are keen to encourage everyone of any ability to come and take part in this event and just enjoy themselves!”
